SERVICE RECOGNISED IN QUEEN'S BIRTHDAY HONOURS - posted 26-Jun-21

Congratulations to all those recognised in The Queen's Birthday Honours List.

Among those honoured was Flight Lieutenant Kara Oliver RAFAC who has been awarded an AOC Commendation.

Flight Lieutenant Oliver is Officer Commanding of 1387 Squadron based in Liskeard and since she took command of the Squadron in September 2010 has seen the unit grow in strength from a detached flight of 335 (Saltash) Squadron to be classified as a squadron in its own right and despite the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic the squadron has returned back to face-to-face activities at near full strength.

Flight Lieutenant Oliver, when not at her demanding day job, is keen on outdoor activities and has, until recently, led the coordination of all the Wing’s Ten Tors teams as well as being a Duke of Edinburgh Expedition Assessor.

The Air Officer Commanding Commendation Number 22 Group is awarded for outstanding service.

Officer Commanding of Plymouth & Cornwall Wing, Wing Commander Francis Reis said, "Congratulations Kara, well done and most certainly well deserved”.
